It was a great night in Longhorn Country!! The boys and girls both got wins over Hemingford. The 5th and 6th grade put on a awesome half time performance. 104.3 gave out some serious cash and we had a great turn out for our SOUPer Bowl cook off with the Booster Club / Helps team bringing home first place with a delicious chicken tortilla soup and the the admin team secured the best dressed booth!!

KPS Parents and Patrons, Based on the law enforcement events in the city of Kimball today, I wanted to remind everyone of our Standard Response Protocols (a picture is attached of the protocols) at KPS. KPS was not in a lockdown today as was reported by various media outlets; however, KPS was in a "Secure" setting with monitored entry for a period of time this morning as there was an ongoing search by law enforcement in our community. This led to there being no open campus for our junior/ senior high school students as local law enforcement requested that students stay on-site so as not to interfere with their activities. Upon receiving notification from county law enforcement officials that there was no longer a threat in the community, a notification was sent from KPS informing parents and patrons of a regular dismissal today. Student safety has been, and will continue to be, our top priority at KPS and we will utilize our communication channels (website, social media, text messages, etc.) to communicate any events that may impact student safety at KPS to all parents and patrons. If you have any questions regarding our Standard Response Protocols at KPS, please contact Superintendent Trevor Anderson at: tanderson@kpslonghorns.org or (308)235-2188.

We had science club today at ELITE. The kids did a candy heart science experiment. They predicted what would happen to the candies when they were put in water, soda, hand sanitizer, and vinegar.
