The Kimball Cross Country team competed yesterday at the Panhandle Classic, hosted by Scottsbluff High School, and turned in a strong performance across the board. The junior high runners set the tone early, showing grit and determination, highlighted by Trajan Johnson bringing home a 4th place medal.
On the high school side, the Longhorns showcased their hard work and offseason preparation. Braxton Miller ran a new personal record with an impressive time of 18:26, while newcomer Kaymen Lusche made a strong debut, breaking the 20-minute mark in his first-ever cross country race with a time of 19:49. The entire squad gave maximum effort, setting a promising foundation for the season ahead.

📢 Have you seen this form come home in your child’s backpack and wondered what it is?
Our school has been using Closegap last year as part of our support for student mental health and well-being. Closegap is a fun, digital check-in tool that helps students share how they are feeling so that only the counselor, administration, or classroom data team can see and respond.
✅ What’s new this year is not the program—the only change is that a new Nebraska state law now requires schools to collect parent consent for all mental health surveys.
Closegap helps us ensure that every student has the best chance for a successful school experience. It’s a simple way to connect students with the right support when they need it most.
If you have questions, please reach out to Mrs. Lewis or Mrs. Culek.
